Most of the Welshmen that I have met over the years have been solid straight forward folk who have never done a crazy thing in their life. Not so the gentleman who pulled a bit of a Nostradamus on the crowed back in 1989 and made a single £30 bet on the predictions that the following would happen by the year 2000:
• Neighbours would still be airing on British TV
• The band U2 would still be together
• Eastenders would still be airing on the BBC
• Home and Away would still be airing in the UK
• And that Cliff Richards would be knighted
Our Wacky Welshman turned out to be correct and 11 years later he walked away with £194,400 in cash.

Howard Lederer is a 2-time WSOP winner who was ordered by his doctor to get both a gastric bypass and become a vegan for health reasons. Mr Lederer did both and quickly shed over 75 pounds and saved his own life because of it. Enter fellow gambler David Grey who decided to bet Lederer $10,000 that he would not eat a cheese burger. Grey lost, because Lederer walked straight into a well known American burger chain and swallowed down not only the cheeseburger, but David Greys $10k bet as well.
A big boob wins a man $100,000
Most men would pay to get rid of their man boobs, but not crazy Canadian gambler Brian Zembic. He took a bet that he would get breast implants if paid $100,000 and actually went through with it. People should have known that he was serious about winning though, because he had previously won a $15,000 by staying in a bathroom for a month.
Dying to make it big
We’re not sure where he is from, but Jon Matthews took a negative situation and made the most of it. Jon was diagnosed with cancer and was told that he only had 5 months left to live. He decided to take a bet on it at the bookies. 1 year later he was able to cash in over $8,300. A year later he claimed another $8,300. Then in the third year he could have netted $16,000 thanks to the 100 – 1 odds he was now given. Sadly he was unable to claim the lat bet as he died before the year was up. R.I.P. Jon!
