Online Blackjack Terminology

As with most popular casino games Online Blackjack has its own set of words that are used during the course of a game. These words are called Blackjack terminology, or in this case because it is a game of Blackjack played online, Online Blackjack terminology. These words are listed below for first time Online Blackjack players:

Bankroll: The bankroll is the total amount of cash a players has when he first starts playing Blackjack. This term is often used to reference the amount a player has to spend for all types of games in a casino.

Bet Spread:The phrase Bet Spread is used to describe the difference between a card counter's (yes, we welcome them) minimum bet and their maximum bet. A good example of this would be the 1-3 spread, which means that the maximum bet is three times bigger than the minimum bet placed.

Betting limits: Betting Limits are simply the maximum and minimum bets a player may place on the blackjack table. Choose the Blackjack table that best suits your Bankroll (see above) when playing.

Even Money: An Even Money bet means that you receive a payout of 1:1 on a bet. This means that your winning money equals your initial bet. For example, if you place a bet of £10 and win you will receive your £10 back and an additional £10 win as well.

Hard Hand: This is when you call for another card from the dealer. This term does not refer to your two initial cards, but the additional cards that you request from the dealer during the course of a game.

Hit: This is when you call for another card from the dealer. This term does not refer to your two initial cards, but the additional cards that you request from the dealer during the course of a game.

Stand/Stay: A Stand or Stay request is issued to the dealer when you don’t wish to hit anymore and remain with your current hand.
