Craps History
It is thought that the game of Craps developed from the Old English game of Hazard and possibly dates back to the time of the Crusades when a group of knights under the command of Sir William of Tyre invented a game using bone knuckle dice. However it was not until it was brought to New Orleans by a wealthy landowner called Bernard Xavier Philippe de Marigny de Mandeville that the modern game of Craps evolved. Reportedly the popularity of the game owes to the fact that it became immensely popular within the growing African American population at the time.
After the introduction of online casinos in
the 1990's Online Craps became even more popular and has now become one of the most
played casino games of all time.
Craps history dates back to at least the 1100's when the game of hazard
was invented by a group of knights during the crusades. The modern
day version of the game of Craps was only created years later when
it was brought to New Orleans by a wealthy French landowner.
