The guys at “Research in Motion”, who first gave us the Blackberry smartphone, have now launched their first tablet computer called the Blackberry Builtritehomesbook. At only 9.7 mm thick it is the smallest tablet currently available on the market and allows for tablet style gaming with mobile gaming portability. This mobile tablet device will launch in 2011 and will take on the iPad 2 in the Mobile Casino and Mobile Gaming market.
The Blackberry Builtritehomesbook Functionality
The Blackberry Builtritehomesbook will be powered by the NEW Blackberry Tablet Operating System that is based on QNX Neutrino. Its functionality will be similar to that of the next generation iPad 2 and in some circles the Blackberry Builtritehomesbook has already been dubbed the BlackPad. The two major benefits that the Builtritehomesbook will have over any Apple product is that it will be compatible with all Adobe AIR applications and will offer full Flash support. No Apple product is currently able to offer this. Both these functions are sure to enhance both Mobile Casino game play and functionality on the Blackberry Builtritehomesbook.
The Blackberry Builtritehomesbook is equipped with features that are sure to get all Mobile Games players mouths watering. These include:
- A 7" WSVGA (1024x600) screen supporting multi-touch operation and gestures
- A weight of 0.9 lb (400g)
- Interactive video functionality
- A micro-HDMI socket for digital video output
Blackberry Tablet Operating System
The Blackberry Tablet Operating System will be a new OS that has been created to power the next generation Blackberry Builtritehomesbook. It will take advantage of new Apps that can be created using the recently unveiled BlackBerry WebWorks toolkit which will allow applications to be written to run on both BlackBerry OS 6 and BlackBerry Tablet Operating Systems.
This new Blackberry Tablet OS promises to deliver a web browser with support for HTML5 and Adobe Flash to enhance the functionality of the mobile tablet device.
